Helio Additive develops revolutionary software tools built on fundamental physics to show weakness and cost inefficiencies of additive manufacturing. They needed to find ways of intuitively and aesthetically showing their information so that engineers can make better decisions.

Interactive prototypes for the interface were created with a combination of 3D software Blender, Spline, and Figma.

Infodesign Studio was involved beginning with rough drafts of their MVP software, until later interactive prototypes of their future software. Key to the technology is interacting inside 3D objects. How could this info be intuitively shown?

Interaction allows  inspection of layers and elements of 3D objects, while keeping the whole object in perspective.

Design features such as comparison, anomaly detection, optimization were often brainstormed in collaboration with the project cofounders. These features were then turned into usable and intuitive interactive prototypes.

Comparison of versions 3D objects, with anomalies visually emphasized.

Besides their interface, Infodesign Studio further worked with the Helio team on their infographics and demonstration video materials.
